Happy Easter

(to those the celebrate)

I used to love Easter as a kid. My grandpa and I would color eggs the week before and I would spend the following week helping stuff hundreds of easter eggs with jelly beans. On Easter morning I would go to church and come home to find a easter basket filled with fun things for me to break or lose within the next year. My grandparents would leave me inside to go through my easter basket and watch cartoons while they went out to hide the eggs I stuffed earlier in the week. The video camera would role as I, dress in a new easter dress and hair done up, would dance around the yard followed closely by Killer; my tiny toy poodle.

Now a days Easter creeps up on me without much acknowledgement. I see the displays in stores and always manage to pick up some stuff to make a basket for my sister and brother but throughout the years it lost the magic it used to possess for me.

This year I tried to bring some of the magic back by taking a family outing on Saturday and coloring eggs this morning. My grandma woke me this morning around 9 telling me to get up so she could give out Easter baskets. She and my grandpa made baskets for me, my sister, and my brother! Later, when it warms up and the grass dries, my grandparents are going to hide eggs for my siblings and who knows I might get in the mood to hunt for a few too. I plan of taking our dog, Chelsie, out with us!
